ARIZONA
The simplicity of a basic geometric shape was the inspiration for this
piece. Made of a solid piece of wood, it is completely enveloped in a
sandy texture of diagonal waves in terra cotta, augmented by a grainy
texture in black. A flow of copper dimensional paint defines the
separation of colors. The back has a bolt of turquoise (for shock
value). The acrylic face is covered with authentic handmade marble
paper. Brass hands are painted for a unique look. Cubic wooden feet,
finished in lustrous gold, give Arizona a prominent stance. The
underside is painted bright turquoise to give a subtle, pale turquoise
cast when placed on a light-colored surface (you can see it in the
photograph).
