ABOUT
STEVENart
Steve Hurst grew up on the south
side of Chicago. A former saxaphonist and singer, he moved
to New York in 1973. He has freelanced as a photographer,
illustrator and graphic designer for over 23 years. He is
a painter and craftsman and has had one-man shows in New York,
Illinois, Boston, Cleveland, and Oakland. He moved to the
bay area in 1998 and now resides in historic Point Richmond,
California.
In 1991,
Steve introduced a series of unique, offbeat clocks and
has since cultivated a unique niche of out-of-the-ordinary
designs. The City of Richmond, CA presented one of his
originals to Magic Johnson as a thank you gift. Steve also
gave Oprah Winfrey a clock after visiting with her on the
set.
When it comes to graphic designing, his approach
is a mixture of old-school customer service and new-school
technology. "Listen to a client's needs, listen some
more, do the research, and then begin the design process."
His photographs
range from poignant, intimate portraits to spontaneously captured
moments at events. "I like the control I have by taking
my own photographs for projects. It makes me an integral part
of the process." |
