VIEW ON THE BAY - This was the first of my "Meditation Series" wall clocks that incorporates a high-quality, slowly-changing light emitting diode module. AYANA'S CADILLAC - What my friend, Ayana, requested was "a five-foot long, all black, rectangular clock". When she saw the color-changing effect on "View on the Bay", she said "I've gotta have that on my clock". This is what she got! The result was the second in my "Meditation Series" clocks, incorporating a sophisticated, slowly-changing color LED component. The resulting design amazed me and floored Ayana. HARRIET - It began five years ago when a friend initially commissioned me to design a wall clock that she wanted to name "The Time Has Come." She gave me a description that was compellingly complex, containing a myriad of contradictions. As I read the description (three pages), I realized that she was describing herself. She wrote of herself as a woman aware of her armor, ardened by life's pains and disappointments, the rough-edged side, as well as her sensitive, serene, spiritual self. She described her smooth, soft, feminine qualities which coexisted with the more assertive, strong side of her. She also described herself as the embodiment of the elements water, earth, air, and the sun.more
